USB Adapter to Site Master

Many new PCs and laptops being sold today feature Universal Serial Bus (USB) capability, which replaces a number of different serial and parallel port connections with one standardized plug and port combination.

Although Site Master is designed with an RS232 serial interface, it can be connected to a PC or a laptop featuring USB capability with a USB adapter cable. However, it should be noted that not all USB adapters will work with the Site Master or with the various Windows and Mac operating systems. After extensive evaluation by our engineering team we are recommending the Earthmate USB Power Adapter Cable from Delorme (www.delorme.com) that has proven to effectively work with the Site Master and the multiple operating systems. The USB adapter still needs to be used in conjunction with Anritsu null modem cable (Anritsu Part Number 800-441) to connect the Site Master and PC or laptop. The USB adapter supports a maximum baud rate of 38400.

The Earthmate USB Power Adapter Cable is eight inches long and houses a USB connection on one end, and an RS232 (DB-9) connection on the other end. It supports the following operating systems:
Windows 98, NT, 2000, ME and XP running on an IBM-compatible PC with a USB port and CD drive.
Mac OS 9.0 or higher, running on a Macintosh Computer with USB port and CD drive.
The Earthmate USB adapter cable can be purchased directly from the distributor or by calling 1-800-Anritsu. We have a limited quantity in stock.
